1. Competition Description
EcoLens is a sustainable photography competition aimed at capturing the essence of environmental consciousness through the lens of a camera. The competition encourages participants to visually narrate stories of sustainability, nature, conservation, and eco-friendly practices. Through creative expression, participants are expected to highlight environmental issues, solutions, or inspirations that promote a sustainable future.
2. Eligibility
Open to all college students (undergraduate and above) and professionals.
3. Participation Details
- Individual participation only
- Each participant may submit one original photograph
- Participation fee: Free
4. Competition Structure
The competition will be conducted in two rounds.
5. Round-wise Specifications
Round 1: Online Submission Round
- Submission must be made through a Google Form
- Participants must submit their entry online as one single PDF file. Submissions in any other format will not be accepted.
- Deadline: 10th March 2026
The PDF must include:
- One original photograph aligned with the theme of sustainability.
- The photograph itself should not be embedded in the PDF.
- Instead, provide a working link to the photograph (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) within the PDF. Ensure the link is accessible.
- A written description (maximum 200 words) that includes:
- The motivation or inspiration behind the photograph
- The idea or message conveyed through the image
- The location where the photograph was taken
- The instrument used (Camera or Smartphone model)
⚠️ Entries that do not follow the above format or exceed the word limit may be disqualified.
Important Notes:
- The photograph must be original and captured by the participant.
- Basic colour correction is allowed; heavy manipulation or AI-generated images are strictly prohibited.
- Submissions after the deadline will not be considered.
✅ Shortlisted participants from Round 1 will advance to Round 2.
Round 2: Offline Presentation Round
- Venue: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay
- This round will be conducted offline.
- Participants will be given 5 minutes to:
- Present their photograph
- Explain the motivation, concept, and sustainability message
- The presentation will be evaluated by a panel of judges.
- Use of visual aids is subject to organiser approval.
6. Prize Pool
🏆 Total Prize Pool: ₹10,000
7. General Rules
- Participants must adhere to the timelines shared by the organisers.
- Any form of plagiarism or misrepresentation will lead to immediate disqualification.
- The decision of the judges and the organising committee will be final and binding.
- By participating, contestants grant the organisers the right to use submitted photographs for promotional purposes with due credit.
