Industrial Design Problem

Tatva, IIT Bombay’s premier environmental fest, presents its Industry Design Problem (IDP)—a real-world challenge at the intersection of urban development and sustainability. Mumbai’s Dharavi Redevelopment Project plans to relocate residents to a section of the Deonar dumping ground, a landfill with 20 million metric tons of waste accumulated over a century. This poses severe risks—toxic gas emissions, groundwater contamination, and land instability. Your challenge? Design a comprehensive rehabilitation plan to transform this landfill into a safe, habitable space while addressing environmental, social, and regulatory concerns. Can you turn a waste-ridden past into a sustainable future? Join the challenge!
